GT racing driver Carl Garnett and Project 29:7 Racing showed tremendous resilience to overcome car issues and record a brilliant third-class victory of the 2026 Britcar Endurance Championship season so far at Snetterton on Saturday (29 August).
Bouncing back from a run of bad luck that denied them silverware in recent events, Garnett and team-mate Jonathan Moore made a welcome return to the podium after a phenomenal effort from the Project 29:7 team to get them on track for the 90-minute race.
The latest win means Garnett has reached an impressive personal milestone in his career; his 50th class podium finish behind the wheel of a Ginetta. Starting with his brilliant spell in the GT4 SuperCup, he’s since added silverware in the GT Championship and Britcar.
The sixth round of the Britcar season got off to a difficult start with the #297 Ginetta G56 GTA, with a differential component failure on Friday leading to limited testing mileage. The team pulled out a late night to change the differential and the clutch to get the car ready for Saturday’s action.
While some issues persisted across race day, a great team effort ensured they were able to work around them and produce a highly competitive performance. Garnett started strongly in qualifying, with a good lap securing them third on the grid in the Trophy class.
Garnett was back behind the wheel for the race, which initially began on a dry circuit. Rain started falling within the opening few minutes though and while some others were caught out by the tricky conditions, the York-based racer adapted well and moved up to second in class.
A consistent run of lap times combined with well-executed pitstops from the team ensured that Garnett had taken the lead of the class in the Telescope and Clearsilver Brand Marketing-backed Ginetta before handing over the reins to Moore for the final sprint to the chequered flag.
The successful one-make Porsche racer produced phenomenal pace in the challenging conditions to pull clear of the opposition and seal their third class victory and fourth podium finish of the campaign. The Britcar Endurance Championship now heads into its penultimate round at Silverstone (03 October).

“For me personally, to reach 50 podium finishes in Ginetta’s is an amazing feeling. I really enjoyed my time in their championships and have had a great time racing with Project 29:7 Racing in Britcar. Hopefully there’s more podiums to come this season and beyond.”
